Purpose of Mapping Study
in simple terms the mapping study of a container is carried out to ensure that the entire area of the container operates at uniform temperature as shown in a temperature indicator. Under normal circumstances, a sensor will be placed at any convenient location and readings will be monitored. However under practical conditions, this does not mean that the temperature is uniform across all areas of the container.
The AC units are placed at certain locations which is controlled by thermostats at couple of points. So basically the thermostat decides the operation of the AC. In real life terms it is possible that the entire area of the container may not be at the same temperature.
You might be loading your goods in the entire area and under these conditions the air flow is further limited and it is possible that certain goods may not be at the correct temperature throughout the journey and will never get noticed. Any hot spots will be identified and corrective actions will be recommended in the report
